At any given time, we may have as much as 900,000 board feet of lumber in our dry kilns. GF Hardwoods is prepared for the future and remains committed to serving our customers and the hardwood lumber industry for decades to come.
ASH
Ash has light to almost white sapwood and the heartwood varies from a gray to a light brown in color.
CHERRY
Cherry consists of rich red color in the heartwood with pale shades of sapwood.
The variation of color makes this a perfect hardwood for a clear finish.
SOFT MAPLE
Soft Maple much like its counterpart Hard Maple, Soft Maple carries a lot of the same qualities with its texture and grain with a gray to almost silver sapwood and very little contrast to the grayish heartwood.
HARD MAPLE
Hard Maple is superb for cabinet application with its pronounced grain and smooth texture.
Light cream colored to almost white sapwood is perfect for clear finishes.
POPLAR
Poplar has a creamy white sapwood to a wide range of heartwood that can range anywhere from yellow to a deep green to olive in color the variations in color make this great for almost any application.
RED OAK
Red Oak- A staple in the Appalachian region. Red Oak's pinkish color and deep pronounced grain have been the go to for hardwood flooring for decades not to mention stair treads and trim.
HICKORY
If you are looking for a wood with lots of character and durability this is the hardwood for you with a light to nearly white colored sapwood and contrast to a dark brown heartwood.
WHITE OAK
White Oak is another constant in the Appalachian region few can match. The wheat colored sapwood and pronounced grain make this one of my all time favorites.
